First Day of School Smoothie

So, the kiddos started school today. The oldest started Kindergarten, and the middle started preschool. I wanted to give them a quick, healthy, satisfying breakfast before their academic day began, so I came up with this recipe!

I was a little afraid that my family wouldn’t like it because of the avocado base, BUT to my great delight everyone, including my need-it-to-be-extremely-sweet-and-unhealthy husband LOVED it! And if that wasn’t amazing enough, it’s dairy free and peanut free! Perfect for those with allergies.

First Day of School Smoothie

Easy to make. Serves 2.

1/2 of a ripe avocado

1 ripe banana, peeled

2.5-3 TBS, heaping, of Sunflower Butter

2 TBS of flaxseed

3 TBS, heaping, of cocoa powder

1C. of sweetened Vanilla Almond Milk (+/- more to reach desired consistency)

Blend (I used my magic bullet).

All the ingredients, minus the milk

It’s quite thick after the first blend, before I add the extra milk.
